Scope

The aim was to provide an air conditioning solution for the BHP switch rooms at Olympic Dam. The rooms were built in Adelaide and shipped to site pre configured, ready to be commissioned.

Action

Design, engineer and then procure equipment for the switch rooms was undertaken to ensure that the temperature is maintained as consistently and within the scope of the equipment specifications. These rooms were then transported to Olympic Dam where the equipment was then commissioned on site.

Result

Constant temperature of the switch rooms have been achieved and the Variable Switch Drives that are housed in these switch rooms are able to operate at optimal levels.
